Wild fishing Absolute Beginners 2012

| Yes, she is a woman singing folk, but let’s not let that make us narrow minded. Soledad Vélez doesn’t make her music nice and sweet. She is like a female version of David Eugene Edwards a la Chilean or a rustic P.J. Harvey who, once again, is beginning to feels his innards tremble. She’s the lover that Nick Cave always desired so that he could give up the world in favor of her company. Her lyrics go no further than that which she repeats as an exorcism with her heart in her hand. They aren’t necessary. What she has to say isn’t as much in her words as in how she expresses them.
